I donโt think Iโve ever had Modelo. I probably would have tried it, but Iโm angry with InBev did to Budweiser. (And the local brewers have started brewing PBR nowโฆ.)
This was a nice listen while Iโm on the train in Alabamastanโฆ..
Looking forward to the audiobook, and if you find yourself in DCโฆ..
Modelo negra out of a freezing cold bottle is the way to go my friend. And hoping to get an audiobook made here soon. And if I'm ever in DC...beers on me haha
I get the impression that Mexican beers are colder. I know they are not, it just feels that way to me.
I enjoyed travelling with you on the night you described. It was also fun to hear some names mentioned that I have interacted with, and it is good to hear they are good people.
Congrats on your book, again! It looks like a solid piece, and the cover art is quite nice.
It should be fun to watch the reviews trickle in! Best of luck with it, Alex!
The essay also made me miss New York- I was in Bed-Stuy in 2005.
Dude idk what it is but Mexican beers are colder. They have to be. I dont know how but they are. Maybe its cause theyโre meant to be paired with spicy food.
And much appreciated man. Let me know what you think of the book when you get your hands on it!
This was a fun read, and it is crazy to me (a person who went to this exact same book reading) that I had a such a great time having great conversations with Substackers IRL and yet, outside of Ross and Vanessa, didn't end up talking to any of the people you talked to. (Or you, which after reading this piece seems like a huge loss!) There's just too much talent in this scene, I guess.
You've also inadvertently pushed "Bright Lights Big City" way up my TBR pile, so thanks for that!
Canโt wait to read it!!! Maybe you will sign it for me?? Love your momma ๐
Terrified. Weโll see if you still want me to sign it after you read it ๐ซฃ
Btwโฆ not only do I want you to sign my book, but I would like to host your first book signing! ๐ฑ
So far so good Alex. Your book is hilarious! I have laughed out loud so much. I will want a signature for sure! Love Mom โค๏ธ
Been seeing that cover around and it's excellent. Congrats!
Thank you!
I told myself I wasnโt going to buy anything this month, but your book is my only exception
Iโm honored. Thank you!!!
Great read. Canโt wait to get my hands on this novel
Yessir!
